Whenever possible, please try to plan in advance. Doorway to Heaven is a single-veterinarian practice, and although I can occasionally arrive on short notice, it is often very difficult for me to accommodate urgent matters. I strongly recommend a standard 7-10 day notice, and up to 14 days' notice or more for longer-distance calls. If my schedule is full, emergency service may or may not be available.
